IRNA Supporters of the defeated terrorist groups in Syria are after creating insecurity in Afghanistan and transferring terrorists to this country, a top Iranian security official said.
Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani made the remarks in a meeting with Afghanistan national security advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar which was held on the sidelines of the ninth meeting of high-rank security authorities started work in Russia on Wednesday.
He expressed regret over the recent terrorist attacks in Afghanistan which resulted in killing innocent people.
Shamkhani underlined the importance of facilitating the activities done by pentalateral committees to achieve practical outcomes and to maintain stability and security in the region.
The information and security cooperation among Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, China and Russia can pave the way for stopping destabilizing programs of some Western countries and their regional allies, he said.
Hanif Atmar, for his part, referred to the fact that increasing and friendly ties between Iran and Afghanistan are not against any country and are not influenced by other countries.
Many foreign nationals which were member of Daesh terrorist group have been arrested by Afghanistan security forces, he said.
The first day agenda of the meeting includes international crises from confrontation to dialogue and evolution of tactics and strategies of international terrorist organizations.
The second day will focus international information security, global responses to global challenges and production and spread of narcotics, threats to international peace and stability.
Secretary of Supreme National Security Council of Iran Ali Shamkhani is to address the participants today.
He met his Russian counterpart Nikolai Patrushev on Tuesday evening.
