IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has called on the US to comply with Iran nuclear deal.
The only scenario that we can deal with is for the Europeans to talk to the Trump Administration to start, once and for all, complying with the deal, Zarif said in an interview with American newspaper New Yorker.
The United States has not only failed to implement its side but is even asking for more, he said.
Thats a very dangerous message to send to the people of Iran, but also to the people of the worldthat you should never come to an agreement with the United States, because, at the end of the day, the operating principle for the United States is whats mine is mine, whats yours is negotiable, he added.
Its important for Iran to receive the benefits of the agreement, he said.
America never should have feared Iran producing a nuclear bomb, Zarif said.
Irans second option exploits a dispute mechanism in the deal, which allows any party to file a formal complaint with a commission established to adjudicate violations. Iran has filed eleven complaintsto Federica Mogherini, the E.U.s foreign-policy chief, who heads the commissionciting U.S. violations on three different counts, New Yorker quoted Zarif as saying.
But we will pursue vigorously our nuclear enrichment,' Zarif said.
We dont condone it, and we dont believe its useful or fruitful or conducive to a better implementation of the [deal], and they know that to be our position, he added.
The United States has not only failed to implement its side but is even asking for more, he added.
Diplomacy never dies, the Iranian FM said, But it doesnt mean that there is only one avenue for diplomacy, and that is the United States.
It wont be very pleasant to the United States. That I can say. Thats a consensus, he reiterated.
Zarif is in New York to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-level Meeting on Sustaining Peace.
The event is to be held from April 24-25 in the United Nations General Assembly.
