US, UK hold talks on Iran

IRNA - British Secretary of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs Boris Johnson and US Acting Secretary John Sullivan held talks on Iran on Sunday.


Boris Johson is in Canada to attend G7 Summit.

Discussed with US Acting Secretary John Sullivan importance of maintaining international norms of counter proliferation re Syria, North Korea, Iran to ensure global security, Johnson said Sunday in Twitter message.

Great opportunity to discuss Burma, North Korea, and UK-Japan bilateral ties with [Foreign Minister of Japan Tar? K?no] today at G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Toronto. He added.

The G7 Summit started in Toronto, Canada on Monday.

According to Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Johnson is scheduled to discuss issues related to disarmament and preventing continuation of conflicts in the Middle East.

Reuters earlier quoted an American official as saying that development of Iran nuclear deal will be discussed in this summit.

Irans acts in the region and the solution to Syria crisis are among priorities in the meeting, Reuters added.
