Iran embassy condemns suicide attack in Kabul

IRNA Irans Embassy in Afghanistan denounced Sundays suicide attack in western Kabul which killed 57 and wounded 119.


In a statement hours after occurrence of the attack in Afghanistan capital, Irans embassy announced that it strongly condemns the deadly attack on a voter registration center in the Dasht-e-Barchi area.

Expressing severe hatred toward perpetrators of the sorrowful event and expressing solidarity with the survivors of the attack, Irans Embassy in Afghanistan voiced its full support for the Afghan government and nation in the fight against terrorist groups.

Spokesman for Afghan Health Ministry Vahid Majrouh has said that given the critical situation of the wounded, death toll will rise.

Afghan parliamentary election is scheduled to be held in October.

Terrorist group Daesh has claimed responsibility of the bombing.

Afghan Interior Ministrys spokesman Najib Danesh said that many of the victims were women and children who were there to get their identity cards and register for elections.

Meanwhile, six more people were killed later in the day in Baghlan's Pul-e-Khumri city, when their vehicle hit a roadside bomb near another voting center. All six were from the same family.
