Lebanese speaker: Iran-Saudi Arabia talks 'urgent need'

IRNA Holding negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia is an urgent need, Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon Nabih Berri said.

Berri made the remarks in a recent exclusive interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

Berri's remarks come as some believe that due to the recent proximity of Saudi Arabia to the Zionist Regime of Israel and the US, the Saudi leaders are trying to put pressure on Iran and create crisis.

The Lebanese parliament speaker underlined the importance of holding talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia.

'The current situation is suitable for negotiations,' he said while referring to Quds and attempts to save it from Judaization as start of negotiations.

If the dangers of Quds are not an incentive for the Arab, Islamic and Christian communities to gather and their convergence, then nothing can protect them, he added.

The commonalities between Iran and Arab countries are more than what exists between Iran and North Korea, he noted.

Iran has always emphasized mutual respect in its relations with other countries and the country expressed its readiness to hold talks with the regional countries to reduce problems and to help maintain peace and stability, Berri said.
