Iranian FM Zarif arrives in Uruguay

IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif heading a delegation arrived in Montevideo, Uruguay on Wednesday.


Zarif had earlier travelled to Senegal and Brazil on the first and second legs of his tour to four African and South American countries.

During his tour to Senegal, Iranian Foreign Minister also held meetings with his Senegalese counterpart Sidiki Kaba and with President of Senegal National Assembly Moustapha Niasse.

In a meeting with his Senegalese counterpart, Zarif described the issue of Palestine and the Zionist regimes crimes as the major problems of the Islamic world, saying that solving Muslims problems is contingent upon the Islamic unity and dialogue in the Islamic world.

Scores of officials in economic, financial and knowledge-based fields from state and private sectors are accompanying Zarif during his trip.

In his visit to Brazil, Zarif held talks with Brazil Foreign Minister Aloysio Nunes and Brazilian President Michel Temer.

After Brazil, the Iranian minister is scheduled to visit Namibia and to hold talks with political, economic and parliamentary officials of the country.
