Iran still committed to JCPOA: Russia

IRNA - Russian President's Aide for International Affairs Yuri Ushakov said on Monday that Islamic Republic of Iran is still committed to the 2015 nuclear deal, officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).


Talking to reporters on Monday, he added that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has on several occasion verified Irans compliance with the deal.

He further noted that Russia is determined to support the JCPOA.

Russia's senior official also pointed out that President Hassan Rouhani and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin are to discuss JCPOA, given the fact that the US administration is out to modify the landmark deal.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ushakov said that Iranian, Turkish and Russian heads of states will issue a statement on Syria during their meeting on April 4.

The statement will underscore backing Syria's territorial integrity, independence and sovereignty, which is a very important issue, he said.
