President Rouhani returns to Tehran from Baku

IRNA Iran's President Hassan Rouhani ended his official visits to Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan and returned to Tehran form Baku on Thursday.


President Rouhani visited the two Caspian Sea neighboring countries, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, upon official invitations by his Turkmen and Azerbaijani counterparts.

He arrived in Turkmenistan's capital city, Ashgabat, on Tuesday and met with senior officials of the country, including his counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The talks culminated in signing 12 agreements and memoranda of understading.

Then he flew to Baku on Wednesday, following a visit to the historical city of Merv in Turkmenistan.

In Azerbaijan, his talks with President Ilham Aliyev and other senior officials, as well as his participation in the joint economic conference led to signing eight agreements.

During the stay in Azerbaijan also three joint projects including the joint car making factory of Azarmash-Irankhodro, were inaugurated.

Iran's Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Shariatmadari, Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi, Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and presidential advisor for economic affairs Mohammad Nahavandian were accompanying Rouhani in the visits.
