Metropolitan Police: Iran embassy protesters freed on bail

IRNA According to Metropolitan Police, attackers to Iran embassy in London were freed on bail.


The attackers were arrested on charges of illegal entrance to diplomatic mission and damaging the building, Metropolitan Police spokesmen told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Saturday.

He went on to say that those arrested were 29, 18, 17 and 16 years old.

Investigations are underway as regard the accident, he added.

The attackers stormed into the compound of the Iranian Embassy on Friday night, hoisting their flag on the balcony of the building without facing any reaction on the part of the London police.

The group attacking the Iranian Embassy in London represents an extremist Shia community. They have a sectarian interpretation of Shia and insist on insulting the grand Sunni leaders. The UK government, however, has an unwavering commitment to assure the inviolability of the Embassy, Hamid Baeidinejad said earlier in a Twitter message.

In the wake of the recent attack on Iran's diplomatic mission in Britain by a London-based radical cult calling itself Shirazi, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman strongly protested to the UK government.
