Indonesia keen to enhance oil ties with Iran

SHANA -- Jakarta's ambassador to Tehran expressed optimism about expansion of oil and gas ties between Iran and Indonesia.

Octavino Alimudin said: "Since 2016, Indonesia has resumed its oil and gas cooperation with Iran by importing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from the National Iranian Oil Company."

He also expressed his country's readiness to invest in Iran's oil industry, expressing optimism that Indonesia's Pertamina will be awarded a production contract in Iran.

Addressing one of the panels of the 2nd International Congress and Exhibition of Oil Exploration and Production and the 5th International Congress and Exhibition of Iran's Drilling Industry here in Tehran on Saturday, the Indonesian Ambassador to Tehran added that such conferences are a great opportunity for Indonesian oil industry activists to better understand the processes in the Iranian oil industry.
