SHANA - A senior Iranian fuel distribution official says all the gasoline distributed in the capital city of Tehran and Alborz Province meets euro-4 standards.

Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Refining & Distribution Company (NIORDC) Alireza Sadighabadi said all the euro-4 gasoline produced by Iranian refineries are consumed domestically, adding 8 megacities and their suburbs are prioritized over other regions for receiving quality petrol.

"All the euro-4 petrol produced domestically is consumed domestically," the official said.

Iran currently produces 40 million liters pf euro-4 gasoline which is being distributed in major cities and their suburbs, said Sadighabadi.

He further expressed optimism that the second phase of Bandar Abbas Gas Condensate Refinery will be launched by late March 2018.

The NIORDC official also said that once the GHD unit of the plant comes online, 8 million tons of euro-4 gasoil will be added to the country's daily output.
