Press TV- Yemeni army forces and Popular Committees have launched a locally-designed and -manufactured ballistic missile towarda military base run by the Saudi-led invading coalition in Yemens central province of Marib, a report says.
Yemens Arabic-language al-Masirah television network, citing an unnamed military source, reported that the Qaher M-2 ballistic missile was fired against the Om al-Rish military base on Thursday morning.
It added that the missile hit the target with high precision. There were, however, no immediate reports about the number of possible casualties and the extent of damage caused.
On Wednesday evening, the forces also targeted gatherings of Saudi mercenaries at the Khabb & Shaaf district in Yemens northern province of Jawf with the same ballistic missile, Yemens official SABA news agency, reported.
There was no immediate comment from Saudi officials on the missile attacks.
Since March 2015, the Saudi regime, together with a coalition of its allies, has been heavily bombarding Yemenas part of a brutal campaign against its impoverished southern neighbor. The Saudi campaign has killed at least 13,600 people since its onset. Furthermore, much of the countrys infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and factories, has been reduced to rubble in the Saudi war.
Famine and outbreaks of cholera and diphtheria are other results of the Saudi-led war.
Yemeni forces missile attacks are part of a national retaliation campaign against the Saudi aggression.
Also on Wednesday, Yemeni snipers managed to kill a number of militiamen loyal to Hadi in different localities in the peninsular country. According to al-Masirah, sharpshooters shot dead at least four in the Nihm district of the capital, Sanaa, and slew some others in Jawfs Sabrin district, and the Asifereh district in the southwestern province of Taizz.
Separately, the Yemeni army troops, backed by Houthi Ansarullah fighters, kept fighting against the invading Saudi-led coalition forces on various fronts on Wednesday. Al-Masirah reported that Yemeni soldiers managed to inflict heavy damage on the Nahoughah military outpost in Saudi Arabias southern region of Najran after they targeted it with mortar fire.
Besides defending Yemen against the Saudi aggression, Ansarullah has also been running state affairs in the capital, Sanaa, in the absence of an effective administration.
