IRNA � Mahan Air flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to Tehran was delayed due to the heavy snow in the capital city of Iran.


The flight which was scheduled to be made Monday night was delayed for over 20 hours, Mahan Air official told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).

The flight will be made on Tuesday night, he said.

Deputy head of Iran Airports Company Hossein Esfandiari had said that 17 airports were affected by heavy snow but 15 ones were not closed.

The first winter snow and freezy weather covered the Iranian capital and many other cities across the country on Jan 28.

The snow was so heavy that it shut down schools in Tehran and other cities and all offices started their work with a two-hour delay. It also disturbed flight arrivals and departures in Tehran while it blocked roads and streets and caused many cars get stuck on the way.
