Iran receives black box data of doomed oil tanker: Official
Tasnim The black box data of the Iranian oil tanker Sanchi that sank in the East China Sea earlier this month after burning for eight days was delivered to Irans Ports and Maritime Organization, the deputy head of the organization announced on Monday.

Hadi Haqshenas said the data of the black boxes of Sanchi and the Chinese vessel, CF Crystal, that collided with it as well as the interviews conducted with the crewmembers of the vessel have been received by Irans Ports and Maritime Organization.

He added that the information is planned to be used and discussed in specialized committees to examine the reason behind the tragic incident.

The representatives of Panama, under whose flag the Sanchi was sailing, Hong Kong, and Iran attended a meeting on Wednesday during which the black box of the ill-fated vessel was opened.

Sanchi, with 32 people on board, collided with the Chinese freight ship in the East China Sea on January 6 and sank after burning for eight days.

All crew members of the Iran oil tanker, including 30 Iranians and two Bangladeshi sailors, were tragically killed due to inhaling toxic gas and the huge fire which embraced the tanker since the outset of the tragic incident.

The Panama-registered tanker was carrying 136,000 tons of condensate, an ultra-light crude that is highly flammable, to South Korea.
