Continued Turkish aggression on Afrin causes damage to citizens houses and archaeological sites
SANA- For the ninth day in a row, forces of the Turkish regime continued their aggression on citizens houses, worship places and archaeological sites in Afrin area and the surrounding villages in Aleppo northern countryside.

Civil sources told SANA that the Turkish regimes forces on Sunday shelled with different types of weapons and heavy artillery the villages and towns in Jandaris in Afrin area, 63 kms to the north of Aleppo City.

The sources indicated that the Turkish aggression led to destroying a number of houses and commercial shops, in addition to destroying Salahuddin al-Ayyubi Mosque and Jandaris cemetery in the southwestern countryside of Afrin city.

The sources added that the aggression also caused huge damage to the infrastructure, particularly to the sewage system and the networks of water and electricity.

The General Directorate for Antiquities and Museums at the Ministry of Culture said that the Turkish aggression on archaeological sites in Afrin area destroyed Ain Dara Temple, one of the most important archaeological buildings as it was built by the Arameans during the first millennium BC.

During the first week of the Turkish aggression, 86 civilians have been killed and 198 civilians have been injured including children, women and elderly, in addition to causing huge material damage to the infrastructure while the movement stopped in the area of Afrin and the surrounding villages due to the heavy shelling.
