Many Iranians from various ethnic groups have celebrated Cultural Heritage Week to honor their inherited traditions and culture,Press TVhas reported.Iranian cultural heritage is considered as one of the oldest and richest in the world history that is annually celebrated in many parts of the country.
Many exhibitions displaying traditional arts and local customs have been mounted in different provinces of the country.
While Iran is comprised of various ethnicities, including Kurds, Lurs, Baluchis, Turkmen, Qashqai, and Arabs, the country has been granted different traditions, foods and even languages.
The variety of traditions and customs has made Persian culture one of the most interesting and vibrant in the world.
Iran's cultural heritage is mainly manifested in its arts such as pottery, carpet weaving, calligraphy, painting, music and cuisine.
"Iran's prize possession has been its culture," narrated in the American scholar and Iranologist Richard Nelson Frye's latest book on Persia.
This years Iranian Cultural Week kicked off on May15 and will run until May 21, 2013.
