IRNA Iranian representative is going to be present at the opening of the black box of the Chinese freighter that crashed into the Iranian Sanchi oil tanker on January 6, said the head of Iran's Ports and Maritime Organization.
'It is expected that the black boxes [of both ships] be opened concurrently,' said Mohammad Rastad.
Rastad added, 'The Iranian representative has been deployed to China to be present when the Chinese freighter's black box is to open.'
The black box of the Sanchi oil tanker should be decrypted with the attendance of all the relevant sides, Iran, China, Panama, and the European makers of the black box.
Iran consul general to Shanghai Ali-Reza Irvash earlier said the analyzing procedure will take time and will be accomplished with accuracy.
He went on to say that requests of the victims families about transferring the bodies to Iran should also be immediately delivered to China.
A sum of 30 Iranian and two Bangladeshi sailors, who were all crew members of the Sanchi crew, were killed because of the toxic gases and the huge fire which embraced the tanker after the ship collided with a Chinese freighter in the East China Sea on Jan 6.
All the rescue efforts were in vain and the oil tanker sank on January 14.
