IRNA French Ambassador to the UN Francois Delattre underlined the important role of Iran nuclear deal in the regional and international security.
Both the nuclear deal reached between Iran and the G5+1 (US, UK, France, Russia, China plus Germany) in 2015 and the Resolution 2231 constitute a cornerstone for regional and international security and stability, French ambassador to the UN said while addressing a meeting of the UN Security Council on non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction on Thursday.
He called for the vigorous implementation of both Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and Resolution 2231.
Despite the fact that Iran has always said that its missile program is for deterrence and non-negotiable, the French envoy called for dialogue between Iran and other sides on the issue.
The US President Donald Trump said on Friday that European allies and Congress have to work with him to fix the disastrous flaws in the nuclear pact or face a US exit.
Trump is after changing the text of the international nuclear accord.
