IRNA -- Pakistan urged all parties to honor their obligations under Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mohammad Faisal while responding to a question at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday said that Pakistan believes that it is important for all sides to remain committed to JCPOA. He added this agreement should be sustained.

�Any conflict on the issue is not in the interest of either side,� he noted.

US President Donald Trump, who had said his administration, would decertify the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, decided on January 12 to extend the sanctions waiver to the country for the third time as a part of the landmark deal.

Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal to another question said that Iran and Pakistan are two friendly neighboring states and the visits of Pakistani Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani and Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq of Iran to attend the 13th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States were very successful.

He said during the visit both leaders interacted with Iranian leaders at all levels. �These visits reflect close nature of Iran-Pakistan ties and are also message for the detractors,� Faisal noted.

To another question he said there is no problem at Iran-Pakistan border except smuggling and their operations and both countries do regularly carry out operations against them.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan has carried out successful actions against terrorists but more than 43 percent of Afghanistan territory is out of Kabul�s control and such area is instrumental in providing safe heavens for the terrorist groups, including Daesh and also attracts international terrorists to relocate to Afghanistan.

In his opening remarks, Mohammad Faisal said at the invitation of Foreign Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers/Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov visited Islamabad on January 15-16, 2018. Both Ministers expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relationship between the two countries. Both acknowledged the importance of early implementation of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) Gas Pipeline Project.

He said US Acting Assistant Secretary of State Ambassador Alice Wells visited Pakistan. The visit was part of regular engagement between the two countries on bilateral and regional cooperation.

He said Pakistan welcomes the recent talks held between the Republic of Korea (RoK) and Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea (DPRK). Pakistan hopes that this new phase of talks between the two sides would help ease tensions in the Korean Peninsula and the goodwill generated by the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics would lead to lasting peace, prosperity, stability, reconciliation and cooperation in the region.
