Iran intelligence minister: Muslim world leaving differences behind

IRNA Iran's Intelligence Minister said on Tuesday that gatherings such as the Islamic Unity Conference can bring hearts and minds closer together and is expected to result in finding ways to address the differences to have a united Muslim world.

'During recent years, the Muslim world has been experiencing bitter ups and downs in the Muslim world, as it is suffering from horrible clashes and differences, as many Muslims are dying, and many others are losing their family members,' Mahmoud Alavi said.

'Due to holding seminars and conferences, we are leaving the differences behind as the conditions are promising a future full of unity in the Muslim world,' the minister added.

He expressed the hope that Muslim nations taste the sweetness of unity and see its constructive outcomes.

The 31st International Islamic Unity Conference which is being held with 500 foreign and domestic participants runs until Dec 7.

The Unity Requirements of Modern Islamic Civilization is the main theme of the conference.
