Tehran, Budapest keen on boosting oil trade

SHANA-- Iran's petroleum minister hosted a meeting with visiting Hungarian finance minister in Tehran to discuss oil trade and smoother banking relations.

Iran's Bijan Zangeneh and Hungary's Mihly Varga met in Tehran on Monday to explore avenues of enhanced oil trade and energy cooperation in the future.

During the meeting the Hungarian finance minister described relations with Iran as amicable and at a good state, expressing optimism that the visit will lead to enhanced relations in all energy sectors between the two countries.

He also underlined the history long relations between the two countries, adding Hungary has run an embassy in Tehran for over 66 years.

Varga said his country never left Iran under the international sanctions on Tehran, adding the bilateral relations of the two countries have always remained friendly and there are no troubles in their mutual relations.

The Hungarian official also stressed the increase in economic and trade relations of Iran and Hungary over the course of the past two years thanks to implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Varga is visiting the Iranian capital in order to take part at a business forum hosted by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).
