IRNA Former Iranian judge and prosecutor Saeed Mortazavi was sentenced to two years in prison, said the plaintiff in his prosecution.
'This decree has been notified to us today,' Mir Majid Taheri who represented his client Mohsen Rouhalamini told Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday night.
Rouhalamini was a graduate student in the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Tehran. He died in July 2009 at the Kahrizak detention center following his arrest in connection with protests of the 2009 presidential election in Iran.
Mohsen was the son of Abdolhossein Rouhalamini, a prominent Iranian conservative and adviser to presidential candidate Mohsen Rezai.
The appellate court session for Mortazavi was held on October 10 but due to his absence the session was canceled and it was postponed to November 21.
Despite his absence, the court held the hearing and passed its verdict.
