Iran urges lifting banking restrictions under JCPOA

IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif late on Saturday urged full implementation of the 2015 nuclear deal by all the parties, Irans enjoyment from its benefits and removing banking restrictions under the deal.


Under the nuclear deal officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran received relief from international sanctions in return for constraints to its nuclear activities.

In a meeting with Chair of the European Parliaments (EP) group for relations with Iran, Janusz Lewandowski, foreign minister said that European Union is a significant partner to Iran.

During the meeting, Zarif also answered questions posed by some members of the European Parliament on regional developments.

Lewandowski, for his part, reaffirmed Europes full support for the JCPOA, urging all signatories to comply with the deal.

Describing JCPOA as the outcome of patience, endurance and diplomacy of all negotiating countries, he said that results of the JCPOA should be plausible.

During the meeting, both officials also discussed ways for promoting and deepening cooperation between the Islamic Republic and Europe and regional developments.

Chair of the European Parliaments (EP) group for relations with Iran arrived in Tehran on Saturday heading a delegation.

Janusz Lewandowski, and his 10-man entourage are visiting Iran at the invitation of the Iranian chairman of Iran-EP Parliamentary Relations Group Kazem Jalali.

During his three-day stay, Lewandowski is scheduled to hold meetings with Speaker of Majlis (Iranian Parliament) Ali Larijani and his Iranian counterpart Jalali.
