Iran, Algeria oil cooperation will improve

IRNA Irans Ambassador to Algeria Reza Ameri and Algerian Energy Minister Mustafa Guitouni explored avenues for promoting oil cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting on Sunday, Irans envoy hailed growing trend of bilateral relations in different fields such as constructive collaboration in OPEC, expressing Irans readiness for bolstering oil cooperation in oil sector including implementation of joint investment projects.

Given Algerias heavy dependence on oil revenues, we are ready for sharing our valuable experience with Algeria in cutting dependence on oil, Ameri said.

Elaborating on Iranian companies capabilities in the field of building refineries and power plants, repairing and maintaining oil facilities, Ameri said that holding first meeting of Joint Energy Meeting is a major step for working out cooperation framework.

He also invited Guitouni to visit Tehran in the future.

Meanwhile, the Algerian energy minister, for his part, said that his respective country also underlines the need for reducing dependence on oil and has plans for that.

We are aware of Iranian technical engineering firms capabilities and are interested to joint invest with them, he said.
