IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Friday that Iran has proved in practice its adherence to the principle of non-proliferation and nuclear disarmament through full compliance with all its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal.
Addressing International Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Samarqand, Uzbekistan, he added that security in today's interconnected world is not limited to military aspect; rather is a multidimensional, interrelated and exhaustive issue.
Today, one cannot buy security at the cost of hundreds of billion dollars and it cannot be imported by ship, he said.
Describing commercialization of security as a new phenomenon that certain global and trans-regional powers have brought into their political rhetoric, Zarif said the sad part is that they have found good customers for this 'dollar for security' deal.
Today, security is an interrelated and reciprocal issue where one's security is contingent upon the other's security, he added, noting that this a lesson that trans-regional interfering powers have learnt in the wake of developments unfolded in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan.
Zarif arrived in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on Wednesday on an official visit to Central Asia which took him to Uzbekistan later.
