IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, on Tuesday at the second leg of his tour of Africa.
Zarif was welcomed by the local officials and the Iranian envoy at Kampala's international airport upon arrival.
The Iranian foreign minister wrapped up his visit to South Africa on Tuesday afternoon and later left Pretoria for Kampala.
He is expected to meet and confer with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and the country's Foreign Minister Sam Kahamba Kutesa on broadening of bilateral ties.
Zarif is also scheduled to inaugurate a hospital constructed by Iran in Uganda.
The foreign minister and his accompanying delegation are also expected to attend several trade and economic forums held during the visit.
Prior to his visit to Kampala, Zarif visited South Africa at the invitation of his South African counterpart Maite Nkoana-Mashabane. The Iranian foreign minister participated in the 13th session of Iran-South Africa Joint Economic Commission.
Zarif arrived in Pretoria on Sunday at the first leg of his African tour which will later take him to Niger.
