Pakistan greatly values ties with Iran: Pak speaker

IRNA - Speaker of Pakistans National Assembly says his country greatly values its relations with Iran and all other Islamic countries.

Sardar Ayaz Sadiq made the remarks during a meeting with Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost in Islamabad on Tuesday.

He said both government and people of Pakistan want to improve trade relations and enhance economic cooperation with Iran.

The speaker stressed the need for designing a joint framework by Muslim Ummah to tackle the challenges it is facing at the moment.

Iranian Ambassador said sacrifices of Pakistani people and army in war against terrorism cannot be ignored.

Earlier Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi during a meeting with the Iranian ambassador had said that his country is keen to expand ties with Iran and will not hesitate to take any step in this regards.

On this occasion, he also described the meeting with President of Iran Hassan Rouhani on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session in New York as important and constructive.
