Iran, Oman agree to implement health cooperation MoU
IRNA Iran and Oman have agreed to take practical steps for the implementation of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries to enhance cooperation in health sector.


The consensus reached during a meeting between Irans Minister of Health Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi and Omani Health Minister Dr Ahmed Mohammed Obaid Al Saidi, on the sidelines of the 64th meeting of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean in Islamabad.

The meeting discussed in detail the MoU signed between the two countries on 19-4-2017 in Muscat. Both sides also agreed to hold joint work groups and provide necessary action plans within three months for the implementation of the MoU.

At the end of the meeting the two ministers signed the minutes of the meeting.

The MoU included cooperation in the field of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Policies as well as promoting investment in the field of manufacturing and exporting of medicine, medical devices, and biotechnology.

The MoU further specified cooperation for strengthening the role of the private sector to invest in the construction of specialized health establishments, exchange of specialized medical team and offer medical consultancies as required.

Under the MoU the Omani government would register Iranian hospitals as authorized medical centers for admission of Omani patients.
