IRNA Iran's Ambassador to Oman Mohammad Reza Nouri Shahroudi accompanied by Iran's cultural attach in Muscat visited 'Gulf University' in Sultanate of Oman on Monday.
During visit, Shahroudi underlined consolidation of educational and cultural relations between Tehran and Muscat.
Chancellor of the university professor Taqi al-Abdevani also pointed to firm ties between the two countries and underlined development of joint infrastructures in the fields of science, education, culture and economy.
Al-Abdevani announced opening of Persian language course in the university, and added that after confirmation of the Oman Higher Education Ministry this course will be offered as optional (elective) course.
Issues like exchanging students and instructors, establishment of University Cultural Club for activities of students, creation of Persian language course in the university, and common research for considering trade opportunity between the two countries, were discussed in the meeting.
The university was founded in 1990 and now has more than 5,000 students from 22 different world countries.
The university has capabilities for deaf people to study and wishing to major in commerce and Computer.
