IRNA - China�s Special Envoy to Syria Xie Xiaoyan on Saturday hailed Iran' efforts for resolution of Syria crisis and said any decision for the future of the country should respect its sovereignty and the Syrian people�s right for determining their destiny.


Speaking in a press conference, Xiaoyan lauded Islamic Republic's positive steps for diplomatic settlement of Syrian crisis and establishment of ceasefire in the country.

Commenting on establishment of de-escalation zones in Syria, he voiced hope that the de-escalation zones would lead to diplomatic solution of crisis in the war-torn region.

He called for international cooperation in fighting terrorism, adding that Beijing supports cooperation between Moscow and Washington in Syria.

China is ready to cooperate with other countries to develop the political process, preserve ceasefire and fight terrorists, the official added.
