Sputnik - The Iran sanctions bill, which also contains new punitive measures against Russia, will likely not get bipartisan support in the US Congress, Legislative Affairs Director Mark Short said in a press briefing on Monday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) "We believe the way they currently drafted the bill, neither Democrats nor Republicans will support it," Sanders stated.
However, Short noted the administration ofPresident Donald Trump is concerned that the Senate-drafted bill, which would sanction Moscow forits alleged interference inthe US elections, includes no national security waivers likeother sanctions measures did inthe past.
Russia has repeatedly denied interference inthe US presidential election and called the allegations absurd.
