IRNA - Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli said here on Monday that all the divine religions, Islam in particular, reject the Takfiri thoughts of terrorist groups.
Addressing the 13th Operational Working Group Meeting on International Counter-Terrorism Mechanism, Rahmani Fazli reiterated that none of the divine religions confirm what is going on in Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen and Nigeria.
He added that the trans-national organized crimes are threatening humanity, reiterating that safeguarding security is considered as one of the main challenges of relevant governments or international organizations in charge of countering terrorism.
As per the international documents and conventions, Rahmani Fazli added that terrorism is considered as a grave threat to peace and international security.
The two-day 13th Operational Working Group Meeting on International Counter-Terrorism Mechanism started in the Iranian capital, Tehran on Monday.
The conference is attended by 75 officials from 29 regional and international organizations in counter-terrorism sector, including the Secretary-General of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) Jurgen Stock.
The topics of the meetings include integrating efforts to promote the Interpol Organization, monitoring and neutralization of foreign terrorists movements and curbing terrorism financial sources, according to the Iranian official.
