FNA- Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali announced that the country has presented to the UN the documents related to pro-Israeli forces' abduction of the Iranian diplomats in Southern Lebanon in July 1982.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran takes the Zionist regime responsible for kidnapping the Iranian diplomats," Fathali said, addressing a ceremony in Beirut on Saturday.

"We, in cooperation with the Lebanese government, have been able to provide the UN with documents which prove the crime of the abduction of the Iranian diplomats in Hajiz Barbare region in 1982," he added.

Fathali called on the international community and human rights bodies to pressure Israel to free and extradite the diplomats to Iran.

In relevant remarks on Tuesday, Senior Advisor to the Iranian Parliament Speaker Hossein Amir Abdollahian underlined that the Iranian diplomats abducted by pro-Israeli forces in Southern Lebanon are presently alive and held in Tel Aviv's prisons.

"The Iranian diplomats kidnapped in Lebanon in 1982 are in the Zionist regimes prisons and there is no evidence proving that they have been killed," Amir Abdollahian wrote on his Telegram account.

The top advisor said that the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) should seriously boost their efforts to determine the fates of the kidnapped Iranian diplomats.

Amir Abdollahian said that the Iranian parliament will soon begin new measures in line with attempts to determine the fates of the diplomats.

On July 4, 1982, Ahmad Motavasselian, Mohsen Moussavi and Taqi Rastgar-Moqaddam, three diplomats of Iranian Embassy in Lebanon, along with Kazzem Akhavan, a photojournalist were held captive by the Lebanese Phalange forces on their way to work on the route of Tripoli-Beirut.
