July 2, The Iran Project � Iran ranks first to tenth in the world in producing 20 agricultural and garden products, says an Iranian official. �

Speaking at the Fourth Nanotechnology Conference in Agriculture in Karaj on Tuesday, Alimorad Sarafraz, Secretary of the Nanotechnology Committee of the�Ministry of Agriculture Jihad said in the past four years, agricultural sector has grown significantly due to the government special attention to this area and using modern knowledge.

Stressing that Iran has ranked 4th in the production of science, innovation and industry in the world, Sarafraz referred to the activities that have been carried out in the nanotechnology as doing research on water and soil, environment, plant products, biotechnology, pesticides, etc.

He went on to say that 50 research projects on agricultural nanotechnology have already been done in the country.

Among Iran�s products in the field of agricultural nanotechnology are different types of food packaging based on polymer nanocomposites, a machine for the removal of heavy metals from drinking water by nano-quenching, etc, he added.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the development and application of nanotechnology in Iran�s�1404�(March 2025-March 2026) Outlook Plan, saying�the plan includes the licensing of Nano products manufactured inside the country.
