Cooperation with Iranian researchers EUs top priority

MNA The European Union has stressed new plans for developing innovation and technological cooperation with Iran, Director of DG Research and Innovation at the European Commission said Monday.


Peter Drll, Director of 'Industrial Technologies' of DirectorateGeneral for Research and Innovation at the European Commission, made the remark in a joint cooperation meeting between Iranian higher education and research and the EU at Golestan Garden on Monday in Tehran.

He went on to add, Iran and the EU has had good cooperation on student/teacher transfer programs and we are hoping to see further cooperation with Iran in the fields of technology and innovation in the future.

The EU delegation in Iran comprises 20 representatives from various European universities. This can provide a proper ground for expanding academic and scientific activities between the sides, he said.

We have plans for further interactions in the fields of science, innovation and technology in the second phase of Iran-EU cooperation, he added.

A large EU delegation comprising 16 scientific and technological figures and representatives from 20 European countries arrived in Tehran on Sunday for a three-day visit. The delegation has been scheduled to take part in an Iran-EU joint working group meeting and an educational workshop.
