IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said Thursday that preventing violence and holding dialogue in a quiet environment without external interference is considered as the best way to settle disputes and would serve the interests of Venezuelan people.


Qasemi also condemned the recent attack against Venezuela�s Supreme Court.

He added the Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the illegal and violent acts against the legitimate institutions and structures not only would sophisticate the situation, but would make the process of reaching an agreement and resolving issues through dialogue and negotiation tougher.

On June 28, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said a police helicopter has carried out a �terrorist� attacked against the country�s Supreme Court.

Maduro said that during the attack in the capital Caracas a grenade was thrown at the building but it failed to explode.

He added that Special Forces were currently searching for the 'terrorists' responsible for the attack, and that the chopper had also flown over the country�s interior ministry.

'I demand that the MUD (the opposition coalition) condemns this eminently coup-mongering attack,' he added.

Unrest in Venezuela was aggravated in early April after the Supreme Court decided to annul the powers of the opposition-controlled parliament. The move was regarded as a violation of the country�s constitution. The decision was later revoked, but protests have only continued.
