Organizers of the International Quds Days rallies in Tehran have put on display the Zolfaqar ground-to-ground missiles the IRGC employed to destroy Daesh targets in Syrias Deir ez-Zor on June 18.
In addition to Zalfaqar with a range of 700 kilometers- the Qadr missiles are also erected on trucks in the streets. Qadr can hit targets within a range of 2,000 km.
On Sunday night, the IRGC fired six mid-range missile from its bases in Irans western provinces of Kermanshah and Kurdistan at the positions of terrorists in Syria. The missile raid was made in retaliation for a recent terrorist attack in Tehran claimed by the Daesh terrorist group. According to reports, all of the missiles hit their target, wreaking destruction on Daesh sites and killing scores of the terrorists.
This years Quds Day rallies in Iran have seen a flare-up of anti-American sentiments, given the US Senates move to pass a bill on new sanctions against Iran and Washingtons repeated rhetoric of military action against Tehran.
Iranian people in some 900 cities across the country have held mass rallies to express solidarity with Palestinians, who have been suffering from Israels atrocities for decades.
Chanting slogans against the Tel Aviv regime and its allies, demonstrators called for an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine, Judaization of the holy city of al-Quds and construction of Israeli settlements across the West Bank.
Carrying placards and chanting slogans against Israel and the US, the marchers also voiced support for the Islamic Republics sovereignty and the countrys defense programs.
Each year, the International Quds Day is celebrated on the last Friday of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
In comments on Wednesday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei described the International Quds Day as the symbol of fighting Arrogance and global hegemons.
The commemoration of Quds Day does not merely mean defending an oppressed nation who have been driven out of their motherland and homes, but defending Palestine today is defending a reality much greater than the issue of Palestine, the Leader noted.
