Tasnim Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who is on an official visit to Turkey, strongly condemned two deadly terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday, saying the entire region has been plagued with terrorism and insecurity.
Speaking to reporters upon his arrival on Wednesday, Zarif expressed deep sorrow over the terrorist attacks and said in terms of security, the region is in a very bad situation.
Terrorism is a problem that we are facing in the Middle East region and the world, the Iranian top diplomat said.
The entire region has become insecure and we condemn the blind act, he added.
The Wednesday terrorist attack on the Iranian Parliament and the police siege of the building finished in the afternoon. All four gunmen have been killed in the exchange of gunfire.
In another attack on the same day, a group of terrorists opened fire at several people in the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, south of Tehran.
According to officials, 12 people have been martyred and 42 others were wounded in the two incidents.
