Sputnik News- Qatar protested the "unjustified" decision of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates to cut ties with the country.
Qatar regrets the Saudi, Bahraini, the United Arab Emirates' and Egyptian decision tocut diplomatic ties withit, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said Monday.
"We regret the decision tosever relations," the ministry said ina statement broadcast byAl-Jazeera. "These measures are unjustified, they are based onassertions withoutfoundation."
According tothe statement, Qatar was subjected toan information campaign aimed atundermining the interests ofthe Middle Eastern state.
On June 5, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates severed diplomatic relations withQatar amidthe row overthe latters alleged support forIran and the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist movement.
"The State ofQatar is an active member ofthe Cooperation Council forthe Arab States ofthe Gulf [GCC], respects its charter, respects the sovereignty ofother states and does not interfere intheir internal affairs, and also fulfills its obligations tocombat terrorism and extremism," the ministry said.
