IRNA Lifting sanctions imposed by West on Iran was President Hassan Rouhanis great favor to Iranian people, a Russian scholar said.
Given President Rouhanis government four-year achievements in domestic and international fields, hopes are still high for developing international cooperation, the Russian Professor at Department of Oriental Studies of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) Sergey B. Druzhilovsky told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Iran has suitable conditions to increase cooperation with Russia and other countries in post-sanction era, Druzhilovsky said.
He went on to say that majority of advanced technologies are being developed by Western countries and Iran and Russia need these technologies.
He pointed to north-south transit corridor as one of the most important plans between
Iran and Russia, saying that despite providing infrastructures, the corridor has not yet been used.
In addition to working together in building nuclear plants, cooperation should be maintained by Iran and Russia in lower level trades, the Russian scholar noted.
