Parliament approves extradition treaty with S Korea

MNA Members of the Iranian Parliament have given the nod to extradition of victims between Iranian and South Korean governments.


At the Parliaments open session on Monday morning, MPs ratified the bill for the extradition treaty between governments of Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Korea.

Under the terms of the bill, the extradition treaty between Iran and South Korea, consisting of a preamble and 23 articles, was passed and the permit for exchange of documents was issued.

As per provisions of the bill, the treaty is required to adhere to 77th and 130th principles of Irans Constitution.

It is worth noting that, under the treaty, extraditable offenses are those which are punishable under the laws in both States by deprivation of liberty for a period of at least one year or by a heavier penalty.
