IRNA -- Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi said on Saturday that the latest statistics indicate that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands on top of the world countries in terms of accelerating growth of sciences.

Iran is in tight competition with 25 top countries in the world due to its continuous scientific growth, he said.

Iran�s scientific growth stands at 14 percent, Russia at 10.3 percent and China at 9.3 percent after Iran, he said.

The Islamic Republic of Iran also promoted its status from 113 to 78 in terms of scientific renovation growth in the world, the said adding that the country is now standing on the top of the list among regional countries as well as Islamic world.
