Sputnik News- Tehran plans to create a transport corridor linking the Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said Tuesday.
Iran has the intention toestablish the transit route betweenthe Persian Gulf and the Black Sea, which "will contribute tothe rapprochement ofthe people," Zarif said duringa joint press conference afterthe meeting withhis Georgian counterpart Mikheil Janelidze.
Janelidze specified that the sides discussed the issues related tobilateral cooperation inenergy, economy and agricultural sphere and labeled 2017 asa special year due tothe 25th anniversary ofdiplomatic relations betweenGeorgia and Iran. Janelidze also expressed gratitude toZarif forhis support ofGeorgias territorial integrity.
Janelidze also noted that Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili would arrive ona visit toIran later inthe week.
Zarif is also expected toparticipate inthe Georgian-Iranian business forum, which is set tobe held aspart ofhis two-day visit toTbilisi, which began Monday.
