IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Georgia on Monday to hold talks with Georgian officials on developing relations.
Zarif was welcomed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia David Jalagania at Tbilisi Airport.
He is scheduled to hold meetings with Georgian senior political officials.
Foreign Minister Zarif is on a tour to three Central Asian and Caucasian countries. The trip takes place on the eve of the 25th independence anniversary of these countries and 25 years after Irans diplomatic ties with them.
An economic-industrial delegation accompanies Zarif in this trip.
As his first leg of his trip, Zarif arrived in Turkmenistan on Sunday.
In addition to political and economic consultations between Iran and Turkmenistan officials, joint economic meetings were also held between representatives of institutes and companies of the countries.
Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Kyrgyzstan after Georgia.
