MNA Head of Iran-Greece joint chamber of commerce said Greece can play an important role in the development of tourism industry due to its valuable experiences in the field.
During the General Assemblymeeting of Iran-Greece chamberof commerce, attended by active members, Mehdi Jahangiri outlined that Greece is one of the major trading partners of Iran and urged the economic actors in the private sector to help improve the economy during the difficult situation.
Asserting that Greece was one among Irans leading trade partners in European Union, Jahangiri said the sanctions in recent years led to gaps in the economic relations between the two countries; during the post-sanctions era, the gap is fading out gradually resulting in the formation of a joint chamber of commerce and we are very optimistic to improve economic relations between the two countries and return to the good relations in the past.
The economic sanctions, the continued drop in oil prices, the economic recession in the world and within the country, as well as the regional conditions has made it necessary to change the public economy in the country and pave the way to entrust the country's economy to the private sector and activists who previously did not have much opportunity to work, Jahangiri noted.
