February 20, The Iran Project � Iran's Deputy Minister of Education has announced that 400 thousand foreign nationals' students are studying in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Speaking at the signing ceremony of a MoU known as "GGP" between Iran and Japan on Sunday, Iran's Deputy Minister of Education Khalilollah Babalou said having a humanitarian attitude, Iran has always tried not to deprive any foreign nationals' students of education.

Despite being under the pressure of cruel sanctions and financial problems, this year, Iran paves the ground for 400 thousand foreign nationals' students to educate in the country, Babalou noted.

Elsewhere in his remarks, head of international affairs and schools abroad referred to Iran Supreme Leader's order not to deprive Afghan children from education, saying Iran and Japan leaders have common views regarding education so we can exchange our experiences.

He went on to say that Japan's positive attitude towards education and its attention to deprived areas are highly valued, expressing hope that the two countries can further boost their cultural relations.

It is worth mentioning that "GGP" refers to Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects that contribute to improvements in various fields including health, education, and skill training as well as social welfare sectors.

GGP have been implemented in the developing countries; also, in Iran, these projects can be run in deprived areas.
