February 7, The Iran Project An Iranian parliamentarian criticizes US President Donald Trumpsbelligerent policy towards the Islamic Republic, saying military attack on Iran has never been an option on the table for America.
Speaking to a reporter on Tuesday,Abolfazl Hassan Beigi, a Member of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said over the past 37 years, the US has always used carrot and stick policy but the whole world knows that they cannot even manage a small war in the region.
Over the last two decades, White House officials have repeatedly declared that all options are on the table but the fact is that military option has never been on the table for the US, he noted.
The Iranian lawmaker went on to say that most of the worlds military experts acknowledge that the one who starts war with Iran, would not be the one who ends it.
Referring to the US repeated failures in West Asia, he elaborated their situation in Iraq and said even when the resistance forces were against the Iraqi regime, Americans could not establish their presence in the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, White House national security adviser, Michael Flynn, claimed thatIransrecent missile tests breached UN Security Council Resolution 2231, addingthat Washington was officially putting Iran on notice.
In response,Iranian Foreign Ministry SpokesmanBahram Qassemi rejected Flynns claims as baseless, repetitive and provocative, and said none of the missiles have been designed to carry nuclear warheads.
