Iran to launch 22 CNG stations in Fajr decade

Shana -- Iran is to launch 22 new compressed natural gas (CNG) stations during the Fajr Decade, anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Once operational, the stations will add 37,000 square meters to the CNG distribution capacity of the country, said Ali Mehrabi, director of the CNG department of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, the stations will also add 147 fueling nozzles to the country's overall CNG stations.

The stations will be launched in the provinces of East Azarbaijan, Mazandaran, Semnan, Fars, Qazvin, Alborz, Kermanshah, Hormuzgan, Khorasan Razavi, Ilam, Gilan and Kohkilouyeh va Boyer Ahmad across the country.

The private sector has built five of the stations and building of 7 others has been financed by state funds, he added. The rest are completed jointly by the state and private investors.
There are currently 2,382 active CNG stations in Iran.
