Tasnim Igor Kolakovic has been named as new head coach of Iran national volleyball team on Sunday.
The 51-year-old trainer has signed a two-year deal with the Iranian federation with an option of two more years.
Bulgarian Radostin Stoychev was also a candidate to take charge of the Iranian volleyball team.
Kolakovic was the coach of the Serbia men's national volleyball team and led the team at the 2006 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship and 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship.
He replaced Raul Lozano, who finished in fifth place in the 2016 Olympic Games, in Iran volleyball team.
Carlos Javier Weber from Argentina, Italian Mauro Berruto and Andrea Anastasi were candidates to be appointed as Iran volleyball coach.
