IRNA A female lawmaker has said that she would not attend the Women in Strategy Summit to be held in New York in protest to the visa ban imposed by US on seven Muslim nations including Iran.
Zahra Saei, female representative of Tabriz to Majlis (Parliament), described the anti-Muslim measure taken by the new US President Donald Trump as an open insult to the World of Islam, particularly to the great Iranian nation.
Speaking to IRNA on Monday, Saei expressed her regret over the US measure which according to her is towards supporting terrorism and fanning the flames of extremism worldwide, although the American president claims that the new ban has been imposed to fight against terrorism and protect the American people.
Two Iranian lawmakers were to take part in Women Strategy in Summit which is slated for May 21-22 in New York.
The Women in Strategy Summit is back for its 5th year in New York with new speakers, themes and panel sessions on the issues related to women.
A series of presentations, panel sessions and interactive discussion in the conference will allow the auduience to be inspired as a woman in business.
